Mark-Chiu

Mark Chiu LLB
Principal

Born and educated in Wellington, Mark has enjoyed practicing law for over 50 years after he obtained his law degree from Victoria University of Wellington. Before establishing Chiu & Cain Law, he was previously a partner for 24 years at another Wellington law firm. His clients regard him as knowledgeable, pragmatic and personable. He is highly regarded for his vast experience on general family matters, in particular regarding property, wills, trusts and estates. Mark is a Rotarian and past member of the inaugural Wellington College Board of Trustees. He holds or has held various directorships and positions on commercial boards, has close ties to the Chinese community, including as a member of the Wellington Chinese Baptist Church, and speaks Cantonese. Mark is a fervent Hurricanes, All Blacks and Black Caps supporter and enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren. 
John-Cain

John Cain LLB
Joint founder

John Cain practised as a property lawyer from July 1967 until his retirement in December 2006. As a former consultant to Chiu & Cain Law, John continues to stay in close contact with the firm and takes an active interest in legal areas of particular interest, notably commercial property, trusts and estates. John is a loyal Phoenix supporter.
Richard-Chiu

Richard Chiu LLB/BCA
Senior Associate

Richard joined Chiu & Cain Law with 11 years of private practice experience. He graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws and worked briefly in IT before starting legal practice. Prior to joining Chiu & Cain, he spent five plus years at one of NZ’s largest corporate law firms. He is an experienced property lawyer, and his specialist areas cover residential and commercial property, wills, trusts and estates. He routinely advises private clients, small medium businesses, large corporates and local authorities. Outside of work, Richard is usually cycling or skiing with his wife or making a mess in his garden.

Katarina Radosevic LLB/BA
Senior Solicitor

Katarina joined Chiu & Cain Law after graduating from Victoria University of Wellington in 2019 with a conjoint Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts majoring in Psychology and Criminology. She assists Mark in general practice on a wide range of legal matters related to residential and commercial property, trusts and estates. Katarina enjoys spending time with friends, reformer Pilates and exploring Wellington’s many cafés and restaurants.
Hollie-Ung

Hollie Ung LLB/BCom
Law Graduate

Hollie has just begun her legal career having graduated from Victoria University of Wellington in 2023 with a conjoint Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Public Policy. She joined Chiu & Cain Law as a part time Law Clerk in January 2022, and will become a graduate solicitor on completing her Professional Legal Studies Course. Hollie enjoys exploring the outdoors, attending group fitness classes and trying out new recipes in the kitchen. 
Cynthia-Qi

Cynthia Qi BS(Economics)/MPA
Trust Account Accountant

Cynthia joined Chiu & Cain Law after graduating from Victoria University of Wellington with a Master of Professional Accounting degree. She used to work for one of the Big Four accounting firms as a tax professional. She manages trust accounting matters and is fluent in English and Mandarin. Cynthia is definitely a big fan of coffee, and she likes travelling and walking during her leisure time.
Millie-Moser

Millie Moser
Law Clerk

Millie joined the firm in January this year and is in her final year at Victoria University of Wellington, working towards conjoint Bachelor of Laws and Commerce degrees, majoring in Management and minoring in Marketing. She enjoys working out at the gym, beach walks and hanging out with friends.
